Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino
Marco Polo tells Kublai Khan of his travels around the world, visiting 55 imaginary cities. Each one described with bits and pieces of truth and impossibility. Like a literary M.C. Escher print.
With each city making less sense than the last, you begin to piece together that each instead is some sort of idea. Some become apparent after a good think but some still elude me. And that's a good thing. I'm looking forward to my next read through.
